General description
SOGEN (Société des Génériques) was established in 2003 as a public limited company. It was inaugurated on February 7, 2003, by the President of the former “Foundation for Education and Health Action” (Fondation Agir pour l’Éducation et la Santé), Mrs. Viviane WADE, and by the Minister of Health and Social Action.
SOGEN is a pharmaceutical wholesaler-distributor of medicines, whether imported or locally manufactured. After obtaining an authorization (visa) granted by the Minister of Health, based on a recommendation from the Visa Commission, these medicines are distributed throughout Senegal.
