General description
HAÏFA DATTES, the leading private date grower in Tunisia, has undoubtedly been one of the top exporters since 2000.HAÏFA DATTES is a company rooted in one of the largest date palm plantations in the Tunisian Sahara: the oasis of Kebili — a truly rich terroir in the heart of the Djerid, crowned by the divine Deglet Nour, whose nectar-like flavor and unique taste are derived from its proximity to the generous Chott El Djerid. It is here that Mr. Mohamed Boujbel has been devoted, since the 19th century, to cultivating numerous varieties of dates with millennia-old origins, specific to the region, whose appearance, taste, fragrance, and quality are absolutely unique, placing them today among the finest date varieties in the world.
HAÏFA DATTES has also successfully combined pure tradition with high-performance modernity by equipping itself with ultra-modern facilities. Dates are picked at the right stage of maturity, disinfected, then washed and pasteurized before being packed and finally stored in refrigerated chambers until they are shipped.
