Carmeuse products are used in everything from the production of chemical compounds, automotive parts, plastics, paints, rubber, greases, and lubricants to commercial leather tanning. They are even found in some types of toothpaste as a mild abrasive agent. Lime is, of course, used as an alkali in the chemical industry, but also as a source of calcium, caustic agents, desiccants, saponifying agents, binders, flocculants, lubricants, and fillers.
