General description
A power plant (electricity generation plant) is an industrial facility designed to generate electricity. Power plants convert various sources of natural energy into electrical energy in order to supply electricity to consumers, whether private individuals or industrial users located relatively far away. The electricity grid makes it possible to transmit and then distribute electricity to consumers.
