The CAMME is an institution within the Ministry of Health, serving as one of its main operational arms. Established in 2004, it has been proudly and honorably fulfilling its missions to this day.
Recently, the institution suffered damage due to a fire that occurred in one of its storage warehouses, located near its headquarters behind the Peltier General Hospital.
In order to ensure the availability and accessibility of generic medicines and medical consumables to the Djiboutian population, the CAMME is placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. Its objectives include the purchase, storage, and supply of health facilities—whether public, semi-public, or private—with generic medicines and materials listed on the national essential medicines list.
