General description
The Albatros Energy Mali S.A. (AEM) project is a 90-megawatt (MW) heavy fuel oil power plant located in Kayes, in western Mali. It is the first Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Mali to supply the national grid. The power plant consists of 6 Caterpillar diesel engine generators. It provides a reliable and sustainable energy source, essential for increasing access to electricity for Mali’s citizens and supporting the country’s industrial development.
